Orchestra Performs Beethoven, Brahms, Elgar at Mt. Zion UMC

  • by

CORNELIUS, February 10, 2024 – The Cornelius Youth Orchestra showcased their talent in a concert at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. The performance, an entirely classical program, featured masterpieces by renowned composers including Beethoven, Grieg, Elgar, Faure, and Brahms.

From the dynamic crescendos of Beethoven’s Egmont Overture to the delicate nuances of Faure’s Pavane, the musicians demonstrated skill and focus throughout the evening.  The program was enhanced by director Eric Boruff’s insightful introduction of the history of each piece.

“We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to perform at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church for the first time,” said Mr. Boruff. “The church’s sanctuary provided the perfect backdrop for our classical repertoire, and the warm reception from Mayor Washam, Shelley Little, and the entire audience made the experience truly unforgettable for our young musicians.”

This performance is part of CYO’s ongoing commitment to foster a love for music and build stronger connections within the Lake Norman community. Through these concerts, the organization aims to inspire, uplift, and unite audiences through the universal language of music.  For more information about upcoming events and how to support the CYO, please visit www.corneliusyouthorchestras.com
