Cornelius, North Carolina – March 3, 2024 – The Cornelius Youth Orchestras (CYO) presented a faculty recital on Sunday, March 3, at Mount Zion Methodist Church in Cornelius, North Carolina. The concert, which entertained audiences of parents, CYO students, and community members alike, featured a lineup of talented musicians from the CYO faculty.
A diverse array of classical pieces highlighted exceptional skill and artistry of the CYO faculty. The distinguished performers included Tom Burge, performing with euphonium and trombone, Alex Wilborn on trumpet, Andrew Fierova on horn, Samuel Sparrow on clarinet, Nick Ritter on bassoon, Eric Boruff on violin, and Tomasz Robak on piano.
Cornelius Mayor Woody Washam acknowledged the talent of the group during his remarks, describing the CYO as a “jewel” in the area. The event served as a testament to the commitment of the CYO faculty to nurture the musical talents of their students and to enrich the cultural landscape of the Cornelius community. Through their collective artistry and dedication, the CYO faculty continues to inspire and uplift audiences of all ages.
